Animal Abuse Case- Dogs Rescued

12/09/2021

Chief Deputy Roy Martin reports that on 12/8/2021, Boone County Sheriff's department received a call of several malnourished dogs on Harmon Road. Deputies responded and found 8 to 10 malnourished dogs in small kennels inside the home. A search warrant was obtained for the residence and 8 dogs were seized and turned over to Ozark Homeward Bound Animal rescue. The dogs were also taken to a local veterinarian for checkups and treatment.  During the search officers found that the conditions of the home were in poor condition, and the health and hygiene was of great concern to the deputies where three children were residing. DHS was contacted and the children were turned over to their grandmother. The property owner, identified as Amy Goff, was taken in to custody and charged with eight counts of animal cruelty and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
