Sheriff Mike Moore reports that there will be a press conference at 1PM on 12/12/2019 at the Boone County Sheriff's Department regarding the homicide investigation involving 13 year old Haley Eddings.

The case involves the response of Boone County Deputies to a residence in the Olvey area on 10/29/2019 for an unresponsive 13 year old. Deputies discovered that Haley's death was the result of a homicide due to multiple stab wounds. Information provided was that the uncle to Haley Eddings, 25 year old Austin D. Eddings, also resided at the residence where the homicide took place. Austin Eddings was involved in a fatal head-on collision on US 62/412 East prior to the discovery of the body. The investigation into the case has revealed that evidence discovered at the accident scene linked Austin to the crime scene. Due to evidence collected and the lack of evidence of anyone else being involved, the Boone County Sheriff's Office believes that Austin Eddings is responsible for the death of Haley and that no other suspects have developed. However, the case is still active as we wait for additional information from the crime lab.
