Sheriff Moore announced that on 07/12/2017 Inv Jeff Thompson and S/A Buster Rinks with the Arkansas State Police arrested 29 year old Shawn Daniel Collett along with his wife, 22 year old Kisha Dawn Collett of Harrison in connection to an investigation involving injuries to a 4 month old baby belonging to Allen and Jennifer Cox. While providing child care for the Cox's the Colletts called NARMC for an ambulance to respond to their home due to that the baby not breathing. The infant was found to have life threatening injuries and was transferred to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. Investigators were told that the infant had been admitted to the hospital for a similar episode involving the same two babysitters 6 weeks prior to this event. The Children's Hospital reported finding new and healing injuries found on the infant which included severe head trauma, fractures to the baby's head and multiple fractures to ribs. The investigation into the matter lead to the arrest of Daniel and Kisha Collett of the act for the offense of battery first degree. The charge for this offense is a class Y felony which is the highest classification in the state of Arkansas and carries a potential penalty of 10 to 40 years, or life. The infant along with another 3 year old child belonging to the Cox’s are currently in the custody of the Arkansas Department of Human Services, pending further investigation. There has not been a bond set at the time of the news release and both Daniel and Kisha remain in the custody of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department with pending charges to be reviewed by the court.
