Sheriff Danny Hickman reports that Corporal Robert Cutburth of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a burglary at the Lead Hill House of Spirits in the early morning hours of March 2nd. Surveillance video from the store provided the identity of the burglar as Patrick James Majesty, age 33, of Yellville. Staff with the store saw Majesty walking nearby and detained him until Deputy Cutburth arrived. When Cutburth questioned Majesty he admitted burglarizing the store but claimed he had permission because he was the Son of God. Cutburth noticed Majesty’s hands were cut and bleeding, probably from breaking into the store window, and a search of Majesty found him to be in possession of cigarettes and alcohol from the store.
Sheriff Danny Hickman applauded the quick reaction of both the store staff and Corporal Cutburth, but noted confrontations with suspected criminals are dangerous and should be avoided. Sheriff Hickman noted this incident could have ended badly for the store staff if Majesty had been violent; but added it ended well for everyone except the burglar. Majesty is being held at the Boone County Jail awaiting filing of formal charges of Commercial Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Mischief
