Sheriff Danny Hickman reports that on Thursday, December 1st, 2011, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division received information from a confidential informant about a narcotics transaction taking place at theTourist Information Center on Highway 65 North, just north ofHarrison.
The informant said that Christopher Shelton, 31 years old of North Carolina, and Terry Salsberry, 25 years old of Harrison, were waiting at the Tourist Information Center with a large amount of methamphetamine to sell to him. Narcotics officers were able to locate Shelton and Salsberry at the rest area and with further investigation, located approximately 11.7 grams of methamphetamine, an undisclosed amount of cash, and drug paraphernalia. These items were seized and Shelton and Salsberry were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute – Meth, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Shelton was being held at the Boone County Jail on a $100,000.00 bond as of Friday morning and Salsberry was being held on a $25,000.00 bond as well.
