Sheriff Danny Hickman reports that on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011, the Boone County Sheriffs Office received a report from the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division about a possible methamphetamine lab located at 1153 Silver Valley Road. CACD Investigator Misty Fowler said there were three young children living in the home where the suspected meth lab was located.
Investigators with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division arrived at the residence to check on the welfare and safety of the children. Narcotics Investigators located two “One-Pot” methamphetamine labs in a back bedroom of the residence along with other chemicals used in the manufacturing process. Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia items were also located.
The Department of Human Services took custody of the three children, a 17 year old female, a 4 year old female, and a 10 month old male. Arrested at the scene was 47 year old Tina Hurst, mother of the three children, and Hurst’s daughter, Melissa Beard, age 29.
Hurst was charged with Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. Beard was charged with Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance-Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. Both women were being held at the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday Morning without bond.
Further arrests may be made in connection with the lab. Investigators are seeking two males involved in the incident.
