Sheriff Danny Hickman reports that the Boone County Sheriff's Office and the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force received information from a concerned citizen about possible drug activity on Fitch Road just off of Silver Valley Road.
The concerned citizen said they had noticed a loud truck driving in the area and parking on Fitch Road on different occasions for a short length of time and then would leave the area. When investigators went to the location, they recovered items believed to be used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
On Monday, October 10th, 2011, the concerned citizen called investigators alerting them that the vehicle was back in the area. When investigators arrived, they located a Dodge truck trying to leave the area. Investigators stopped the truck and located items consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Joshua Taylor, age 19 of Harrison, and David Bounds, age 27 years old of Harrison were arrested for Manufacturing a Controlled Substance - Meth, and Bounds was also charged with Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms and Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons. Taylor's bond was set at $5,000.00 and Bounds' bond was set at $35,000.00. Both men remain in custody at the Boone County Jail.
Sheriff Hickman, Boone County Investigators and the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force want to extend their appreciation to the citizen reporting this activity. Concerned citizens do make a difference and this is one great example.
