Sheriff Danny Hickman reports that Cpl. Robert Cutburth and Sgt. Bobby Reese engaged in a vehicle pursuit on May 15, 2011.
Sgt. Bobby Reese, with the assistance of Cpl. Cutburth, was attempting to serve an outstanding warrant on Brandon King, age 28, at a residence on Valley Drive, in Valley Springs. Information was given at the residence that King had left on an ATV, but would return shortly. King came by on the ATV and ignored Cpl. Cutburth when he was asked to pull over.
A chase ensued and King failed to yield at the Rally Hill Road and Meadow View Drive intersection to a pickup truck, barely avoiding an accident.
King traveled another 6 miles, driving reckless and attempted to evade officers by leaving the roadway. King was apprehended and taken into custody on 8 outstanding warrants, with bonds totaling $7,500.00.
King will be facing new charges involved with the fleeing incident of Reckless Driving, Failure to Yield to oncoming Traffic, Felony Fleeing, Driving on Suspended DL, Riding ATV on public road, Failure to Register an ATV, Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle, – 2 counts and Resisting Arrest.
King is in custody at the Boone County Jail awaiting formal charges on this incident, along with the initial charges from the outstanding warrant. King also is being held on a Probation Violation warrant. Bond has not been set at this time.
