Sheriff Danny Hickman reports the successful recovery of property reported stolen from the Lead Hill School. Lead Hill School reported on Feb. 14, 2011, of a breaking and entering at the school and that several IPAD’s were taken in the theft.
On Thursday, 04-21-2011 Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Cpl. Bill Groves received a call from the Lead Hill School. Troy Burleson reported that one of the stolen IPAD’s had been recovered at a local pawn shop. Cpl. Groves went to the school to examine the returned IPAD and then went to the Mott Brothers High Dollar Pawn in Lead Hill where the IPAD was pawned. The Pawn shop had been alerted about the stolen items so promptly contacted the school when one showed up there.
Cpl. Groves retrieved a receipt at the Pawn shop with Danielle Graham’s name on it. The owner stated he knew this person as Danielle McDonald. Another person was with her during the pawn, Brandon Wallace. Lead Hill Police Chief Kenny Barnes had just saw the two subjects and took Cpl. Groves to the home where the officers were admitted and saw another IPAD lying in plain sight. Groves and Barnes were given permission to search the premises and recovered a total of 5 IPAD’s at the residence.
McDonald, age 31, and Wallace, age 23, were both taken into custody and charged with Theft by Receiving. Wallace is still in custody with a bond of $10,000. McDonald, who is known as Danielle Wallace and Danielle Graham, is also currently in custody at the Boone County Jail with a bond on the Theft by Receiving charge of $10,000. She is also being held on a parole violation in connection with this incident. McDonald is a registered sex offender and will be facing charges of failing to notify law enforcement of her new address when she moved.
Sheriff Hickman is happy to have recovered the property for the Lead Hill School District and appreciates the great community involvement that helped make this possible.
