Sheriff Danny Hickman reports that on 04/10/2011 the Boone County Jail Staff reported a fight between two males in a cell block of the Boone County Jail.
The first inmate, Christopher Bridges, who had already been sentenced to the Arkansas Department of Corrections, was injured in the attack. Bridges sustained a broken nose, eye socket and jaw. Bridges was seen at NARMC and then transported to UAMS in Little Rock for treatment.
Michael Eugene Davis, another inmate that had also been sentenced to ADC, was the attacker. Statements indicate that Davis was picking fights with other inmates and that Bridges attempted to intervene and stop Davis from fighting. Davis attacked Bridges, knocking him down and then kicked him numerous times in the face while he was down. Further information was obtained from the jail camera surveillance system.
Charges have been filed with the prosecutors office for felony battery 2nd degree against Michael Eugene Davis. Davis was transported to ADC Diagnostics where he will serve his sentence, with these charges pending.
