Sheriff Danny Hickman reports that the Boone County Sheriffs Office has arrested 33 year old Louis Castleberry Jr. of Mt. Judea, AR, for Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance – Marijuana. Castleberry has been the subject of a four month investigation for Narcotics trafficking from California to Arkansas. Several FedEx packages, containing narcotics, have been tracked from a location in California to Castleberry’s residence in Mt. Judea, AR. Narcotics Investigators from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force, and the Newton County Sheriffs Office intercepted one of the packages in Springdale, AR on Friday morning, May 28th, 2010. Investigators conducted a search warrant on the package and discovered approximately ¼ pound of processed marijuana.
Investigators then conducted a controlled delivery of the package using undercover officers posing as FedEx employees. Castleberry met with those undercover officers and was arrested in front of a local business in Bellefonte Friday night. Castleberry was taken into custody at that time and arrested. Castleberry’s bond was set at $10,000.00 and he was released after posting said bond on Saturday morning.
